And we’re on day one of this Bout of Books, and we’re kicking it off with a Bookish Survey from Writing My Own Fairytale! It’s not too late to join in if you’re interested, and there are giveaways, too, if that tickles your fancy at all.
Onto the questions!
1. How do you organize your shelves?
Chaotically. At the moment I have them separated into “read” shelves and “TBR” shelves. The latter vastly outnumbers the former and it’s kind of embarrassing, especially when there’s absolutely no other form of organization to speak of. Yet, I keep on buying books and adding to the mess. I should probably try to organize them in a better way.
2. What is one of your favorite book that’s not in one of your favorite genres?
This one was really hard to do because I had to figure out what my favorite genres are and then decide if any of my favorite books didn’t fit into my favorite genres. I decided to go with Susan Wigg’s Great Chicago Fire Trilogy, which I read for a cover-related challenge and loved. I haven’t found a series since in that genre that I’ve liked nearly as much, so props to Wigg for writing such a good series.
3. What is the last 5 star book you read?
I had to actually go look at my Goodreads for that one. The last 5-star book I read was The Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz, which was the last book I read. My memory is horrendous.
4. What book are you most excited to read during the read-a-thon?
Honestly I’m just excited to finish up some of the books on my currently-reading that I still have yet to finish, which is mainly Fire by Kristin Cashore, because I’m so close to finishing it.
5. What book do you recommend the most?
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I’m floored by the amount of people that don’t know about this book and I’m throwing it out where I can when I know people have the same reading tastes as me.
And that concludes this bookish survey. I’ll be poking around other surveys that I see on here, so let me know if you’re in on this!
Thanks for reading!
