Top 5 Wednesday | Books I’m Intimidated By

Top Five Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by GingerReadsLainey and Sam from Thoughts On Tomes over on Goodreads. This week’s topic is top 5 books I’m intimidated by. I have quite a lot of these, all of which I own and are currently staring me down from my bookshelves… Haha. Ha.

You can find these and all the other books I have yet to read on my TBR Shelf. Be warned, I am a sinner and I’m only somewhat sorry. (I’m slowly chipping away at it, though!)

The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. I’m intimidated by this one mostly because I’m afraid if I done go into it with my full attention, I won’t be able to appreciate the story to the degree it needs to be appreciated at. That’s the case for a lot of these books, as you’ll see!

Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore is another one. I love the world Bitterblue is set in, and I’m definitely beyond curious to know what’s happening, but it’s such a large book and the world is so fantastic, that I’m afraid I won’t do it justice until I’m ready to dive into it. Hopefully that’s sooner, rather than later.

The rest of the Sookie Stackhouse books. I’m on book 4 right now, but I’ve been hesitant to continue after realizing how many books are in the series. I’ll finish it eventually, but yikes. So many books.

The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Intimidating because large bind-up, I want to dedicate a good chunk of time to this one and am saving it for when my currently-reading list on Goodreads is clear. That … will take a while.

Classics, period. I’m just not a big fan of them, and each time I have to read one, I feel intimidated.

And that’s my top 5 Wednesday for the week. Thanks for reading!

  1. I do understand the “classics” 😛

But Soskie Stochouse novels aren’t a problem, simply go one book at a time, after all you might get bored at one point 😛
There are much bigger series out there 😀 for example the whole Discworld

  2. I definitely feel the last three there. Especially the Sookie Stackhouse series, I own a few of the books (though not all of them, and definitely not in order) and my sister has told me nothing but amazing things about the series. But it’s such a large series, and that’s a lot of time to dedicate to one series. I’m a wimp, what can I say?

  3. Bitterblue. I bought all 3 Graceling Realm books with the intention of marathoning them. Many told me that Fire is the worst of the three but I enjoyed that a lot. I started Bitterblue and I just couldn’t get into it. At least, at the moment.

I quit the Sookie books at book 5. Such crappy writing.
