November is going to kill me, watch.
Most of the day today was spent working on things for Disney on Friday (which, there will be pictures soon, I swear–I’m having hell with the bodice still), writing Fanfiction in an attempt to get myself geared up for November, and then getting some supplies for November so that I can at least be somewhat prepared.
I’m pretty terrified of NaNoWriMo, but that’s no secret. I’ve been rolling ideas around in my head, but the problem with a lot of them is I have no background writing for the genres they’d be set in–aside from Fanfiction. And I don’t know if that really counts, since this time I’d be working with my own characters and my own worlds and settings. Not to mention a lot of things would require a lot of research, which I don’t have time to do before I start writing.
So, now I’m trying to spit out more contemporary-styled ideas in hopes I’ll have something usable come November. I might have settled on something, but I’m still iffy about it.
I need to hurry up, though, because I want to start as soon as November kicks off so I can get ahead and not have to die during Nekocon trying to squeeze out a ton of words.
Which means I need to pick an idea and get working on outlining so I have some structure to work with. I’ve found letting myself write without an outline ends up going wild and usually leaves me with tons of scenes that are totally not needed and completely useless to the plot, and that’s something I’m going to want to avoid this time.
Ugh, talking about it is just making me more nervous for actually doing it.
All the same, I’m going to try my best and see where it takes me.
(Eugh.)
