Super Pinky Blue // Cosplay Contact Lens Review

Today, I’m going to do a thing I’ve been meaning to do for most of the year, I’m going to review one of the pairs contact lenses I purchased for cosplay.

♥ Lens Information ♥

Brand: Super Pinky (Blue)
Size: 14.8 mm Diameter // 8.6 mm curve
Lifespan: 1 year
Color: ★★★★★
Comfort: ★★★☆☆
Find them here: HoneyColor

I bought these for my Luka Sandplay Singing of the Dragon (Vocaloid) cosplay, but I also have worn them for my Jack Frost (Rise of the Guardians) cosplay and will for any bright blue-eyed characters I might end up cosplaying before the lens expiration date.

Taken from Honeycolor’s website, as you can see from the watermark. They’re currently on bundle sale as I’m writing this, but that might not be the case when you’re reading this.

There were plenty of options to choose from when looking for lenses, but Luka has some serious baby blues, so I tried to get the bluest blue I could find that also had a picture of them on the model. Not the best way to choose, I know, since not only does the model have a different eye color than me, the photo is probably also shopped. But, hey, it worked out in the end.

This is in outdoor/natural lighting.

I naturally have blue/gray eyes (they look a bit green here but I think that’s just in contrast to the blue of the contact lens), so these would look different on a dark-eyed person, but I have a feeling they’d still be very vibrant. The color payoff is fantastic, and while I might not recommend this for a character with more subtle blue eyes, these are very good for those who really have a killer blue eye color.

The biggest downside is the comfort. It’s only at the very beginning, but that can be a deal breaker for some people. Since they’re circle lenses, the chance of them being uncomfortable is higher than that of a normal lens (for me), and they were pretty painful going in at first. I felt as if the edge were a stuck eyelash, which is common. After a little rubbing and pattering around trying to ignore the feeling, it gradually went away and I felt fine the rest of the time I was wearing them. They didn’t dry my eyes out at all either, which was nice.

Though I am going to try out other blue lenses, I would purchase these again for Luka. I think they work very well for her character.
