Now this will obviously be a constantly-changing, ever-growing, technically massive list, but I can’t possibly list every book I would want to take with me six feet under once I’m done causing havoc.
(Honestly I’ll probably just tell everyone to throw my whole library in there with me. Or get my own mausoleum and turn it into a library around me so everyone has to sit and read with my coffin chilling somewhere in there. Yes. I like that one.)
So, instead, here are ten books/series I want slotting right up into my coffin (or in my mausoleum) before you slam that lid down on me with a muttered, “Finally.”
(I plan to be a wild old lady. Just watch.)
1.
First on the list is Harry Potter. If you didn’t see this one coming, then good god man, get a pair of glasses.
I only have the image for the first book, but I want them all in there. Whatever special 100 year edition they end up publishing (because I’m totally going to live to at least 105), just toss it in and lay me to rest. Also, the illustrated ones. Thanks.
2.
The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. Or, particularly, The Dream Thieves and The Raven King, because those are my two favorites in the series.
3.
I know this is technically 3 AND four but … eh. Fangirl and Carry On are my two favorite Rainbow Rowell books. Sure, I’ve only read three of them, but I didn’t really like Eleanor & Park (expect a talk on that at some point … once I have the courage), so Carry On and Fangirl it is.
4.
I don’t think I need to explain myself with this one. You know me well enough if you’ve been here for the past, what, two posts? Three? You know.
5.
Okay, so maybe I haven’t read the last one yet, but I’m working on it! I have a lot to read this year, but it’s on the list. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Laini Taylor though, because what I HAVE read is beautiful and beyond amazing. She’s an instal-buy author, and I’m just waiting to get my paws on Strange the Dreamer.
Now, since this will probably change by next year, I’m thinking of doing an updated version once 2018 comes around. That, or just making another one with five more books I’d take to the grave with me. We’ll see!
Do you have any books you’d die with? Please let me know, I need more favorites to add to my list!
Thanks for reading!
