So, over the weekend I had the chance to hang out with an acquaintance I had only met once before, and I came out of the experience +2 humans in my life who understand my bookish needs and tendencies, which is harder to come by than you’d think.
I also came out of the experience with a new possible way of going about organizing what I want to read in the oncoming months, which I’m pretty excited about trying out! Since it’s Thursday now, I’ve managed to set up a small trial to see how I go about it, and here’s what it’s (or, it was) looking like:
Since February is not only a short month but also almost over, I only stuffed the books I either really wanted to read or knew I would get read into the pile. From there, I made March and April to try and suit my current tastes in reading. They may end up altered, but I think I gave myself enough options that I won’t be straying away from the designated pile I made myself.
I also only gave myself six books for March and April each, which both feels like not enough and too many. I may end up altering them as I get to them, but, for the most part, I’ve got books I think I’ll get done, so hopefully there won’t be too much of that happening.
It’s nice to see what I think I should be reading ahead of time, even if it’s only a few months! I might expand on this once I have the shelf-space, which might actually be sooner than I was expecting. I’m reading way more of my own books than I thought I would.
(Hopefully I didn’t just jinx myself…)
Updates on how the process works will be had!
Thanks for reading!
