Top 5 Wednesday || Favorite LGBTQ+ Reads

Top Five Wednesday is a weekly meme created by GingerReadsLainey and hosted Sam from Thoughts On Tomes over on Goodreads. This week’s topic is top 5 favorite LGBTQ+ books! Which reminds me that I need to read MORE of them, badly! I don’t have many on my shelves.

5

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, which is becoming a movie! I’m excited. Are you excited? I’m so excited.

4

Ari and Dante

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Sáenz, which might just be on everyone’s list. Maybe not, but I saw a lot of them with it in it.

3

Sun

I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson, which was an emotional roller coaster, let me tell you.

2

 12024430

Teeth by Hannah Moskowitz, which doesn’t come across as LGBTQ+ until you read the whole thing due to the endgame … er, relationship, but it’s there. Goodreads also agrees. This one took my heart and didn’t bother giving it back even after it tore it up.

Everyone who knows me saw this one coming. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. I’ll just see myself out.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I tried the audiobook for Ari & Dante and I am still no further than about 30% into the book as it doesn’t seem like my type of story, but I really hope you end up enjoying it! And I definitely want to give Simon a shot too, as it seems like such a beloved book!

      1. Maybe I need to power through that audiobook then! I can’t seem to decide if it’s the writing or the format that I am consuming this book in, as this is my first ever audiobook!

    1. Thank you! 😀 Teeth is … something else, shocking in a lot of ways, but I LOVED it. It knows how to hurt you.

      … That being said, I hope you like it!
