Confessions of a Literary Addict

As you know, I’ve made it one of my goals this year to try more makeup and get into it, since I’m getting older and one of these days knowing how to put on makeup properly might be necessary for something I’m doing. (I mean, I need it for cosplay, but my friends are really good at makeup so they usually help me.)

And, with that, I’ve been trying different brands. Until now, though, I’ve never given MAC a chance, mostly because I don’t actually live anywhere near a place where I can get MAC stuff, and Ulta is just easier to reach.

But! I made it to one, and I decided it was time to give their stuff a try. Specifically their lipsticks, because I hear about their lipsticks literally all the time.

What I got:

♥ Matte Lipstick in Mehr ($17)

♥ Lip Pencil in Soar ($17.50)

♥ Lustre Lipstick in Hug Me ($17)

Excuse my janky nails. One day I’ll think to fix them up before getting photos together.

They had a deal, buy two get a lipstick free, so I went ahead and did that. The free one was Hug Me, and there were five choices I could pick from.

First Impressions:

Not really impressed with the lip pencil for the price, but I have to say, I do like the lipsticks! I’m way more into Mehr than I am Hug Me, but I seem to like matte lipsticks in general more than anything. I do like the glimmer that Hug Me has, though it’s a little too similar to my natural lip color in some light. Might still repurchase, though!

Since I like the lipsticks so far, I would love to know if there’s any you like to use, be it MAC lipsticks or otherwise. I’m still so new to makeup that any recommendation on anything is golden to me.
