Top 5 Wednesday | Books I’ve Read Because of Blogging & Booktube

Top Five Wednesday is a weekly meme created by GingerReadsLainey and hosted Sam from Thoughts On Tomes over on Goodreads. This week’s topic is top 5 I’ve read because of blogging or Booktube. I’m a mixed bag between the two, since they intertwine so much, so I just did both.

the selection

5 – The Selection by Kiera Cass

Originally, I was looking around for a book that I could read through fast so I could catch my Goodreads goal up, and this one popped up more than once. It wasn’t necessarily a fantastic read, but it certainly got the job done. I flew through the entire series.

all the light we cannot see

4 – All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

Y’all know I’m a massive historical fiction nut, so when I saw this being hyped up by bloggers (I did see it some on Booktube, but, aside from PeruseProject, historical fiction doesn’t come up much) and decided to give it a go. I was not disappointed.

Fangirl

3 – Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Fangirl I picked up solely on blogger hype, because I stumbled upon it before I had gotten into Booktube.

I'll Give you the sun

2 – I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson

Massively hyped by both platforms, totally worth the hype. I love this book.

jackaby

1 – Jackaby by William Ritter

Now, this one is purely blogger, but also very important on this list. (Which is why it’s number one.) I almost bypassed this book completely because I had thought I wasn’t going to like it based on Goodreads reviews.

Then, I saw a blogger I follow mention how much they liked it, and I thought, “You know what, they like it. I’m just going to try it.” And I love the series now. So all the thanks for this series goes to blogging.
