The Raven Cycle Book Tag!

ravencycle__span

So I saw Birdie at BirdieBookworm doing this one and she left the tag open, which meant of course I was going to slide on in and take it up, because I LOVE The Raven Cycle to death. But, you know. What else is New. 😀

The creator of this tag is Inside My Library Mind!

The Rules

  • Mention the creator in your post
  • Thank the person who tagged you
  • You don’t have to use the creator’s graphics, but you certainly can! Just be sure to credit them
  • Be sure to include this set of rules in your post
  • Tag more people so we can all enjoy it!
  • Most importantly – HAVE FUN

game-of-thrones-jon-snow-theory

Blue Sargent – your favorite quirky character

“Blue was a fanciful, but sensible thing. Like a platypus, or one of those sandwiches that had been cut into circles for a fancy tea party.”

Gonna have to go with Jackaby from Jackaby by William Ritter! There were a bunch I could have gone with (the quirky ones are usually my favorite), but I had to go with him.

jackaby

Gansey – a leader

“Gansey was just a guy with a lot of stuff and a hole inside him that chewed away more of his heart every year.”

Cinder from The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer! All the characters were a little bit their own leader, really, but when it came down to it, it was Cinder taking them to the very end.

cinder

Ronan Lynch – your favorite character of all time

“I am being perfectly fucking civil.”

You mean aside from Ronan Lynch himself? Hermione Granger from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling! (Or the Weasley Twins.) I pretty much spent my whole life just wanting to be her.

harry potter and the sorcerer's stone

Adam Parrish – a character you disliked at first, but you love now

“If you combined these two things – the unfathomable and the practical – you were most of the way to understanding Adam Parrish.”

What’s weird about this one is I thought I was the only one who didn’t like Adam at first. Of course, now I flipping adore him, but yeah I thought I was the only one who didn’t right off the bat.

Anyway, my answer will be Sansa from A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. Loathed her until the third book, wherein I suddenly decided I would give my life for her. The turn shocked me, too. She’s now my favorite character in the whole series.

Noah Czerny – the most lovable character

“Depending on where you began the story, it was about Noah Czerny.”

Okay, unfair. Who can beat Noah? But I digress…

Not sure how true this is, because I feel most people prefer Will, but I adored Jem from the moment I stepped into The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare and thereon. I just thought he was the cutest thing, and I couldn’t get over how he actually would put his parabatai first, unlike most other characters in the world.

clockwork prince

The Women of 300 Fox Way – your favorite female role model

“You could ask anyone: 300 Fox Way, Henrietta, Virginia, was the place to go for the spiritual, the unseen, the mysterious, and the yet-to-occur.”

I was trying not to repeat books here, buuuuut … gonna go with Minerva McGonagall from Harry Potter. 😀

harry potter and the sorcerer's stone

The Search for Glendower – a book series you wish had never or will never end

“He was everything Gansey wished he could be: wise and brave, sure of his path, touched by the supernatural, respected by all, survived by his legacy.”

Would have also said Harry Potter for this one, but, well, Cursed Child caused me to backtrack on that. Which is saying something, because I’ve never not wanted more from Harry Potter before that book came into existence. So, instead, I’ll go with The Raven Cycle, which hasn’t really finished yet! (Thank you, Stiefvater.)

the raven boys

Mr. Gray – an anti hero

“There aren’t terrible ideas. Just ideas done terribly.”

So many possible choices, but I think I’m going to have to go with the consensus and say Kaz Brekker, because he was a mighty fine anti-hero.

six of crows

Psychics & Tarot Cards – your favorite magic system

“It was impossible to forget that all of these women were plugged into the past and tapped into the future, connected to everything in the world and to one another.”

Okay, it’s getting really hard not to repeat books. This might be cheating a little bit, but … Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. The names are dumb, but that’s the point. 😉

carry on

Kavinsky – your favorite unlikable character

“Reality’s what other people dream for you.”

This was a hard one, but I went the easy route and chose Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter. (Still thing he should have gotten a redemption arc, dammit.)

harry potter and the sorcerer's stone

Cabeswater – your favorite book setting

“Cabeswater was such a good listener.”

I really love magical school settings, so I’m going to go with Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins!

And that’s it! I’m not going to tag anyone because you can’t really do this tag easily if you haven’t read the series, but feel free to take this as an initiative to do it yourself, if you’d like!

Thanks for reading!

  1. Thank you for doing the tag! I feel like everyone’s favorite anti-hero is Kaz! And I am so glad to see that you did not like Adam at first, since everyone dragged me for putting that as his question 😂 I really enjoyed reading through your answers 😊
