So, my final week of Blogtober has clearly been a bust (my friend is down from VA and I have lost all track of time, but I’m actually okay with this), but I still completely plan on trucking through with NaNoWriMo next month, or, if you will, in two days. I even made sure to plan ahead for it this year!
NaNoWriMo 2017 will be my second year attempting, and I’ve decided to deviate from the norm this year based on what I learned about myself this past year from all the writing I’ve done. (It’s all fanfiction, but it’s still writing, and I did a LOT of it … but more on that come the end of the year.)
What have I learned? Well, for starters, I’ve learned that working on one story stumps me more than anything else out there. My solution to this? I picked up a 30-day writing challenge sheet as guidelines for shorts I can write out when I can’t find anything to add to whatever work I have at my fingertips for that day.
I won’t be following the word counts for each of the prompts, but I decided these would be pretty good ways to work around my inability to focus on a sole project at once, even if they don’t get very far.
Following that, I’ll also likely be doing a mix of traditional writing (in a notebook) and digital writing (in Microsoft Word), since I have a feeling I’ll decide I need to write at times when I won’t have a computer on me, even though I think I write better with a keyboard than I do a pen. We’ll see how that works out!
As far as music goes … I actually don’t have a playlist set up, since I don’t have a single thing I’m going to be working on. I’ll be relying a lot on shuffle, that’s for sure.
It’s not the longest post I’ve ever made, but I only wanted to get a little thing out there of what I plan on doing for NaNo this year!
For the blog, I’ll be returning to my usual M/W/F schedule, probably. I hope.
NaNoWriMo might just take up all my time, we’ll see. (Not to mention I have a con at the very start of the month … that’ll be fun. Oh boy.)
Thanks for reading, and good luck on NaNo if you plan on participating!
I’m just like you… cant focus on one thing for too long so these are very good suggestions, I’m also giving it another try and will be penciling down my ideas that are jumbled in my mind to a paper source today so I can start organizing my brain for it lol just like you said the blog might have to take a step back in the month of November but if we can do it the reward will be worth it 🙂

Goodluck!! I’m having a go again this year (though I’m still stuck trying to outline something right now, so I’m not too hopeful haha) 🙂
