The Christmas Book Tag!

I saw Laronda @flyingpaperbacks doing this one, AND it was an open tag at the end, so I snapped it up to do and get into the holiday spirit. (Only three days away now!) This tag was originally created by Hailey in Bookland.

Let’s just jump right into the tag!

“You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch”

Name a villainous character you couldn’t help but love.

Oh man, The Darkling from Leigh Bardugo’s The Grisha Trilogy, maybe? He’s one of those characters that I know wasn’t meant to have a redemption arc but that I still really, really wanted one for.

“All I Want for Christmas is You”

Which book to you most hope to see under your Christmas tree?

The illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, hopefully.

“Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”

Name a character that overcomes major obstacles and learns to believe in themselves.

Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter is honestly possibly the best case I can think of, considering where he started and where he went.

“Santa Claus is Coming to Town”

a) Which character do you think would be on the top of the naughty list?

Gen from The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner. Even though he did some good things, he steals things for a living and is proud of the fact.

b) Which character do you think would be at the top of the nice list?

Jem from Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. Or, at least, he freakin’ better be. I’ll get my pitchfork out, don’t test me.

“Frosty the Snowman”

Which book just melts your heart.

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz by far. I need to reread it.

“Feliz Navidad”

Choose a book that takes place in a country other than your own.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak took place in Germany, so there’s one.

“It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”

Which holiday themed book do you use to spread the Christmas joy?

I don’t really have one. Harry Potter isn’t Christmas-themed, but it’s got that Christmas feel to it. Maybe Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares?

“Sleigh Ride”

Which fictional character would you choose to spend the holidays with (doesn’t have to be a love interest!)

The Weasley Twins from Harry Potter all the way, and no, you can’t make me pick just one of them!

“Baby it’s Cold Outside”

Which book that you didn’t like would you sacrifice to a fire to warm yourself up in the cold?

Hoo boy, none really but if I HAD to pick a book … Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause would be my offering.

“Do you hear what I hear”

Which book do you think everyone should read?

The Martian by Andy Weir, even if you’re not really into Sci-Fi. Mark is just too damn funny to be passed over.

And there’s the tag! I’m not going to tag anyone because I’ve been horrific with networking lately and have NO idea who’s done it as of yet, but if you’d like to do it, let me know and I’ll link you in here!

Thanks for reading!
