It feels like it went by so fast!
Three years ago I registered on WordPress.com and started blogging about books and my life because I had missed my Tumblr days of doing so, and I have to say I don’t regret it even a bit. Blogging, even when I feel like I’m completely sick of doing it, is one of the things I always feel like I can come back to do, and I love doing it.
I’ve had quite a few mishaps along the way, mainly in the form of swapping between self-hosted and back to WordPress-hosted (because I had so many issues that always went unresolved, but that’s a story for another time) and having glitch issues where it would mess with my followers, posts, and the people I followed (to the point where it wiped everything clean and I could only import my posts again… and then refollow all the people I could remember!), but, really, what website is perfect? Do I wish those things had never happened? Of course! But I can’t do much about it, and I don’t want to change platforms, so I suppose I’m here to stay. 😉
So, since I’m still here, why don’t I look back on a few things?
My first post was a Pretty Little Liars book-to-season review of sorts. I never did finish that! I finished the books, but I stopped watching the show … oops.
My first book haul was a library one, and nothing has changed there! I still do those regularly.
My first book review didn’t happen until February, and it was a full series review for the Matched trilogy! Definitely don’t do those anymore… (On Tumblr, I used to only do very short reviews and thoughts, and I guess I thought a series review would amp it up some. It was too much, I now think!) I actually remember writing this one, too. Vividly.
I did quite a few book-to-movie thoughts posts, too, which is something I’m bringing back (tomorrow, possibly, if I can finish up the one I’ve had sitting in my drafts for the past month). My first one was for The Maze Runner. I miss doing those a lot!
May was the month of my very first Bout of Books, and I still think that’s the best BoB I’ve accomplished thus far! I think it’s because I had just graduated with my bachelor’s and was hyped to have more free time.
… I used to do a lot more than I do now, jeez. I seem to have fallen into the book spiral and, despite books being my main love, I never intended for this to be purely book-related. I think it’s time to do more again! It was so much fun with all the freedom I used to have, and I want to go back to it again.
Anyway. Here’s to three years, and hopefully many more!
Thanks for reading! Hope you stick around. 😉
congrats on three years of blogging!

Hi there, I’ve only just set out with my own book blog, but I’m enjoying trawling through other book blogs and seeing what people have been able to achieve. The internet is many things, not all of them good, but to some extent it is democratic and gives individuals something of a voice.
So keep it up. You’re a veteran compared to me.
