Currently-Jammin’ #1

I have other things I could probably be queuing up for today (since I completely blanked out on last week, oops, I hadn’t even realized I skipped a week in my planning), but I’ve been listening to a lot of music lately while studying for my GREs/trying to write/trying to make my way through like five review-requests at a time. (I’m in over my head, help me.)

So, I decided why not share some of the things I’ve been listening to lately? It might not be a weekly segment, I don’t know if I have enough material for that, but I enjoy music and I know many others do, too, so I’ll give it a go and post them as I feel fit.

Let’s do this.

(These are kind of a mess, just a forewarning. I listen all over the place when it comes to my music tastes, because not everything will fit the same scene and I’m stubborn about switching around where I can.)

Play With Fire by Sam Tinnesz (feat. Yacht Money)

So on average I listen to more alternative than anything else, but I’ve been listening to a lot of music I haven’t listened to previously while on 8tracks, mostly for playlists for villains or antiheroes. As such, this is one of the songs to have come up that I immediately decided I need in my life to play on repeat.

On Your Side by Thriving Ivory

Where We Belong is one of my favorite songs to throw into playlists for certain pairings/stories I work on when it’s go-time, but, for some reason, I never went back and listened to more of their songs. This one popped up, and I recognized the vocals and fell in love on the spot. Now I just need to go back and listen to more of their songs.

Ed Sheeran Perfect / Elvis Can’t Help Falling In Love (Mashup Cover)

And this one I’ve just been listening to on repeat for the past few hours. I love mashups to death, and I adore both of these songs, so mashed together? Uh, yes please.

“The Star-Spangled Banner” (MINOR KEY VERSION)

And this one, while not one I really use for writing hardly at all (I only used it once when I was trying to write something apocalyptic), is just really cool to listen to. I can’t get over how awesomely haunting it is when the key is switched up. Now I look for minor key versions of songs all over the place, because they’re so addicting to listen to.

Thanks for reading!
