Actually getting this one out on time, but my mom is currently in the hospital for kidney stones so I’m a little tied for time and can’t really do this more than the quick way I sometimes take it. It’ll have to do! It’s not like I did much this past month to warrant the more extensive kind anyway.
This past month I read four books, which unfortunately puts me at a 4-books-behind sitting on the Goodreads goal chart. I’ll have to pick that up some. (Audiobooks!)
Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff // ★★★★★
Animal Farm by George Orwell // ★★☆☆☆
Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris // ★★★☆☆
Dead Reckoning by Charlaine Harris // ★★★☆☆
And that was what I got done for this month! Almost done with the Sookie Stackhouse novels, which I’ve been listening to exclusively on audiobook and actually really enjoying despite the star ratings. The narrator is wonderful! The plot, though, not so much.
Loving the Illuminae Files series. Illuminae itself is still my favorite of the three (I’m only halfway through Obsidio as I type this), but that could still change.
And as for Animal Farm, at the time I’m sure the story was revolutionary or something, but it’s nothing new for me to have read, so I was pretty bored throughout the entire thing. I knew where it was heading from the start and when it got there I was pretty underwhelmed. I’m not saying you shouldn’t read it, but be prepared for a story you may already have heard in other forms.
Thanks for reading!
