Sometimes I just don’t feel like reading, but still want to get through the book I planned on reading that month. Or just want to read a book in general, but don’t have the time or, still, just don’t feel like reading. You know?
When that happens (or, when I’m working), I turn to audiobooks, and now that I’ve gotten really deep into the audiobook realm (because of work) I’ve actually accumulated a stack of books I specifically want to audiobook rather than read, which is something that’s never happened to me before. Some of these are even from my Alphabet Book Challenge that I’ve set up for myself in this second half of the year.
So, without further ado, here are the books I am planning to audiobook:
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black
Because I’ve already started this one at least twice before and couldn’t get past the first chapter, so audiobooking it will help that along easily.
Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
I actually more plan on reading and audiobooking these at the same time, reading when I can and then listening when I don’t have time to read. I feel like these could be great audiobooks!
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
No real interest in reading this one, but I’d like to listen to the audiobook because I’m interested in the story.
Elixir by Hilary Duff
Again, no real interest in reading this one on my own, but I’m so into audiobooks now that I really want to listen to this one, along with possibly the sequel and third book.
It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
So I wasn’t a huge fan of the one book of Hoover’s that I’ve read so far, but I’m far from being a quitter when I only have one of her books under my belt and so many other people love her stuff, so I’m going to try again. Just, this time, I’m planning on half-reading and half-listening.
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
I’m horrendous when it comes to classics. Audiobooks just make it so much easier for me to pay attention, somehow, so that’s what I’ll be doing here.
And those are the books I plan on listening to as of right now! There will be more to come as I make my way through these, but for now this is what I have planned for the future.
(If you know any books that are good as audiobooks, let me know please! I could always use more.)
Thanks for reading!
I agree with your points; it’s easier to power through an audiobook rather than a physical one if you have no interest in it. I’ve recently listened to Call Me By Your Name and am I glad I did. It’s not my favorite book at all even though I know bunch of people love it.
