This readathon is AWESOME, holy shit. Look at it!
(No, seriously. Go look at it for all the details, I can’t give them all here.)
(I can, however, sum it just a little. But go check the main post, too!)
#UnsolvedAThon is a totally freaking awesome readathon by TheBookCorps that is taking place from April 1-30 and is about our spooky bois Shane and Ryan from Buzzfeed Unsolved. I may not be Buzzfeed’s biggest fan (like… at all), but I make an exception for this show. I also used to make an exception for The Try Guys but they have their own thing now, so.
Anyway.
You pick a guy and follow the show prompts (it’s different for each guy) for your TBR, and you try to solve the case!
Seriously, this is so well thought out, I love it.
[Ryan Voice] Without further ado, let’s get into it.
(wheeze)
I’m technically a shitfish, but I have a leaning towards Shaniac (though my leaning does correlate with my anxiety so on certain days I can be a total Boogara and be scared of literally everything I watch on the show) so I’m going to go with good ‘ol Shane on this one. (I feel like an obligatory “I love you too, Ryan” is also needed.)
The TBR
The Harrowing Hunt for Bigfoot: Read a book about a mythical creature/monster.
Going with the classic Dracula on this one!
The Strange Disappearance of D.B. Cooper: Read a mystery or thriller book.
I don’t have many mysteries/thrillers, but I scrounged one up!
The Haunting of the Salem Witch Trials: Read a book involving witches.
I had plenty of options for this one!
The Horrifying Murders of the Zodiac Killer: Read a retelling.
Also had plenty of choices for this one!
The Secret Society of the Illuminati: Read a book about or involving a secret society.
It was in the name. I had to.
The Suspicious Assassination of JFK: Read a book about or involving an assassin.
I’ve been meaning to reread this series anyway, so this is a good chance!
The Demonic Goatman’s Bridge: Read a book about or involving demons.
And in time for the new show!
The Thrilling Gardner Museum Heist: Read a book involving a heist or thieves.
3 Horrifying Cases of Ghosts and Demons: Read a collection of short stories/anthology.
This is literally my only one. I am not a fan of anthologies.
The Treacherous Treasure Hunt of Forrest Fenn: Read a book involving an adventure or quest.
What better for adventure than a classic adventure?
And there’s my TBR for the readathon! There are options for cheats in the form of characters if you need some help, but I’ve been reading a pretty decent chunk of books each month so I think I’ll be pretty okay.
I will be doing a wrap-up on my blog once it’s all said and done, but for live updates I will toss you over to my Twitter, where I’ll be more active. (I literally only ever use the thing for readathons, lbr.)
Link me your TBRs if you’re joining, too! I’m so excited for this.
Thanks for reading!
Omg thank you so much for joining!! And thank you for your kind words 💕 Your TBR looks awesome! I’m so glad you’re doing Shane’s path, I was worried not enough people would haha I’ve heard so many good things about Poison Study, I hope you enjoy it. And good luck to reading The Hobbit — I don’t even know how many times Ive tried to read that book and failed 😂
Thanks again for joining 💕
