April 2020 Wrap-Up!

Man. Being in lockdown really gets to you. I haven’t left the house in 44 days except to walk around the neighborhood block and drive the car around some (which we’re allowed to do in my state), and, my god. I’m starting to understand a little how they feel in movies and books when they’re unable to go outside for long periods of time. Because I live with an extremely high risk individual, we’ve been doing delivery groceries to be extra safe, so I’m not even getting to go to the grocery store. (And I’m also down on funds, since delivery is more expensive than just going to the store… bleh. At least I’m saving a lot on gas? FL is a big state. Uses a lot of gas.)

Anyway. Wrap-up.

It wasn’t my best month this month, even though March had been so great. I struggled to get through books, especially in the past couple of weeks, but I did get 8 books and 2 novellas knocked out. Not horrible, but nowhere near what I got the month before.

What I Read:

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien // ★★★★☆
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins // ★★★★★
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins // ★★★★★

Nightfall by L.J. Smith // ★★★☆☆
Blood Will Tell by L.J. Smith // ★★☆☆☆
An Untold Tale: Elena’s Christmas by L.J. Smith // ★★★☆☆

Girl with a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier // ★★☆☆☆
Dark Places by Gillian Flynn // ★★★☆☆
The Roanoke Girls by Amy Engel // ★★☆☆☆

Not doing bad on the 20 in 2020 list, though! 7 down, which is more than I expected to have done by now with how slow I usually am to complete my own challenges.

Here’s hoping the next month will be better! (Hopefully it will, because the governor is letting us out on Monday, and if we behave it might stay that way. FOLLOW THE RULES, PEOPLE. DON’T RUIN IT FOR THE REST OF US.)

(… God, that sounds so dystopian, doesn’t it? Jesus.)

Thanks for reading!
