This Weekend’s Read [6/20/2020]

First up: last week’s read!

Last week I read Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake, and, gotta say, it was kinda meh for me. I’m waiting for the story to pick up, and I plan on continuing the series, but the first one was sort of slow for me. Also, a little confusing, because there were a few different perspectives, and they weren’t always just in the POVs of the three queens. I had some trouble getting names straight at the start.

However, totally guessed that twist! Like… guessed it as soon as a certain aspect of the book that I won’t discuss because spoilers was explained. I’m not upset I guessed it even though it was pretty obvious, it means there’s a lot that’s going to have to happen in the books to come, and I am here for it.

Now, this week’s read. Since The Last of Us II has dropped, I’ve been engrossed in watching all the playthroughs I can get my grubby paws on, and that makes reading a little difficult to do. So! I’m going to stick to an audiobook this week and just listen to it while I’m doing housework or making coffee or things like that.

This week I’ll be reading (or, y’know, listening to) The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. It’s not a very long audiobook (only 8 hours), so I should be able to get through it in two days in between my TLOU2 binging.

(And, god, they’re ripping my heart up. Has anyone played/watched it yet?)
