November 2022 Wrap-Up!

Not a bad month, November! I read 18 books and managed to knock my 22 in 2022 list down to two books!

(Unfortunately, I’ve started both books as of writing this and am struggling not to DNF either of them because I’m very bored… but alas. That’s spoilers for that wrap-up.)

What I read:

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman // ★★★☆☆
Afterlove by Tanya Byrne // ★★★☆☆

The Iron Traitor by Julie Kagawa // ★★☆☆☆
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt // ★★☆☆☆
Greywaren by Maggie Stiefvater // ★★★☆☆

BZRK: Origins by Michael Grant // ★★☆☆☆
BZRK by Michael Grant // ★★☆☆☆

One month to go! I’m going to have to switch to the audiobook for The Shadow of the Wind, my attention span just isn’t good enough past those first 50 pages to keep up with what’s going on. So many people love it, but I’m starting to get bored. I hope it picks back up again.

As for Magebane, there doesn’t seem to be an audiobook, so I’ve broken it down into chunks to make it through. I’m bored, but it has potential, I think, once the airship actually gets involved. Here’s hoping I’m right.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Shadows is in my TBR and I’ve never heard of Magebane. Good luck! You can do it! Yeah, TDM is a solid 3-star series. So glad to see you gave ADSOM 4 stars! Project Hail Mary was a gem, such a surprise.

    1. I honestly can’t remember buying Magebane, sometimes I think some of the books I own were snuck in or something 😂 (Definitely not me binge buying and forgetting!) I hope you like Shadows! Younger me probably would have loved it, but it reminded me too much of The Goldfinch and bored me more than I expected it to. I’m SO excited to continue Shades of Magic (or whatever the series is called, too lazy to go look), I want to see what happens with Lila so badly. And Project Hail Mary was AMAZING. I need a physical copy STAT.

      1. Ohhh I could give you soooo many examples of “(Definitely not me binge buying and forgetting!)”!! lol! Oh no I’m so scared to read Shadows now since you just compared it to Goldfinch! ☹

      2. Just book lover problems 😂 It might be because I read them so close together! The stories aren’t so much similar as I was just so BORED. Also I really didn’t like the ending of Shadows, they do one of my big no-nos for fiction. (I think it might be spoiler-y though, so I won’t say!)
