Library Sale Book Haul! [FALL 2022]

Why is my post editor so tiny? WordPress? What are you doing.

The sheer teeny-ness of the editor made me completely forget how I wanted to start out this post. Something about how it’s been well over a year since my last haul post according to my categories (very possible I just didn’t tag the last one correctly, though, but that’s a problem for another me), which I am rectifying now because my library is back to doing their sales as of earlier this year, and I got some ones I’m excited about this time.

And with that train of thought lost, let’s just get into the books!

The first things I managed to nab were Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman, Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr, and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab. Eleanor and Addie are two books I’ve heard a lot about and have been meaning to read, where Cloud is by an author I previously read and LOVED (All the Light We Cannot See), so I couldn’t say no to it. I am a little worried since it’s not strictly Historical Fiction, but I’ll give it a go either way.

Next we have the first three books in Garth Nix’s The Old Kingdom series! I already had a copy of Sabriel previous to this purchase, but I wanted matching covers, so I just ended up giving the other copy to my sister. Now I have to hold out hope that there are matching covers for the other books in the series!

And, finally, some oldies but goodies! I collect copies of my two favorite classics, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, and I was lucky enough to find a copy of a version I didn’t own of Jane Eyre! Along with that, I bought these hardcover copies of the Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien. I think they’re missing dust jackets, but that’s fine with me! I love the foil on the front.

And that’s all I got this time! The spring version is usually better than the fall one, so I’ll be gearing up for that one when the time comes.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to see if there’s a way to revert this thing, because I HATE it…

Thanks for reading!

  1. I read an ARC of Cloud Cuckoo Land and ooooh we did not get along. It’s nothing like ATLWCS, to its detriment. I definitely have mismatched covers for The Old Kingdom series and I also have not read it yet! Those LOTR hardcovers are cool without dust jackets!

    1. Oh noooooo! I was afraid of that… Well, I’ll go in with lower expectations despite loving ATLWCS, and maybe I won’t give it one of my notoriously low ratings 😂 (I took a peek at my yearly wrap on Goodreads despite not being done for the year yet, and my average rating was very on brand for me!)
